Eileen Anderson Bio

I draw artistic inspiration from multiple natural terrains, ranging from the mountains to the sea. It is within nature itself that I can reach my happy medium – balancing both the abstract and tactical elements of the natural world, my role as an active observer and joyful participant within it, and my diverse skill set across an array of stylistic mediums including acrylics, pen and ink, and watercolor. The pallet knife is one of the tools I frequently pull out of my artistic arsenal as it affords me more creative freedom when conveying the beautiful texture of the birch trees I often paint, the contrasting colors that crown a mountain top and the vibrancy and undertones of the waves that wash in from a stormy sea.

I studied art at the University of Connecticut and have been actively involved in the Mystic Art Festival, Lyme Art Association, Farmington Valley Arts, Wickford Art Association, Simsbury Open Art Studios, Stockbridge Art Festival, Roseland Cottage Art Juried Art Festival, Lost Acres Vineyard and Thames River Gallery. My work has also been featured in numerous juried shows throughout New England. I am is proud of my solo exhibitions featuring 35 handpicked paintings, at the Arts of Tolland and at Lost Acres Vineyard.  My work is also available for viewing by private appointment at my studio in West Simsbury.
